Shepherding your Preteen/Teens : Two Day Preteen/Teen Parent Workshop 

May 19 and 20, 2017
Guest Speakers: Drs. Michael and Mary Shapiro

When: Saturday, May 20 (for both preteen/teen parents)
Time: 10:00-1:30*

  • Session 1 will be on communication, starting with a really good discussion about preteen/teen development and how this effects the way they view themselves, God, and their families,  along with practical advice, including a little segment about how dads can connect with their preteen/teens at an emotional level. 

  • Session 2 will include obedience and authority, empowering parents to combine authority and unconditional love, in the way that God does.

  • Session 3 will include a variety of issues including helping to foster healthy boy/girl relationships, and prioritizing our battles.

  • Session 4 will speak to special needs and how to spiritually navigate the world of exceptional children as parents and as a church family.

  • Q and A

  • There will also be a chance to meet the Preteen Camp Coordinators and ask camp questions (registration deadline is May 31!)

*All of the above are inclusive of special needs families

This is an event you will not want to miss! Please make every effort to work out childcare. It will be a great time of fellowship, learning, parent empowerment AND definitely worth the effort it will take to get there!! 
Bios on speakers:
Michael and Mary became Christians in 1984 in Athens, GA.  They have raised 3 kids in the faith and have had their own practice in Child Psychology since 1988.  Both are well versed and up to date in all things children and teens. They are world renowned speakers with great knowledge made simple, great senses of humor and great understanding of what it takes to raise children/teens in the current environment.
